Hello there, and welcome to Blackdown Hearing

Audiology came into my life in 2003, qualifying as a Hearing Aid Audiologist under our then statutory regulatory body, the Hearing Aid Council. Over twenty years (!) later, I am still here and remain fascinated by our profession and the positive life-changing impact we can and do make every day.

I consider myself extremely lucky to work in audiology, and I have successfully worked in several roles within hearing care during this time: clinical, practice management, national audiologist training, area management, and leading audiology development in the UK and Ireland for the global leader in private hearing healthcare.

Blackdown Hearing was founded in 2020 and allows me to use my wide-ranging experience in audiology and helping others to hear while ultimately, and most importantly, providing you with a truly local, independent, and impartial hearing specialist within our fantastic home county of Somerset.

Before audiology, I served in the Royal Air Force. (I blame too many viewings of Top Gun - the reality was slightly different!) What it did do, though, was give me the fantastic opportunity to learn and grow with an incredibly diverse team of colleagues and see a fair bit of our planet along the way in the ten years I served.

Away from hearing, you will find me out on my Triumph motorbike, enjoying time at home with my family in Taunton, or taking our Chihuahua for a walk.
